The Bluegrass Domestic Violence Program (BDVP) was originally started in Lexington, Kentucky by The YWCA of Central Kentucky. This organization originally ran the Spousal Abuse Center. But, BDVP was created and took over these services almost seven years ago.

Dry Stone Conservancy

The Dry Stone Conservancy is a non-profit organization that is set up to preserve historic drystone structures, to advance the drystone masonry craft, and to create a center for training and expertise throughout the nation. The conservancy was to protect the distinctive features of the world-famous Bluegrass landscape, when it had reached a critical point in 1995. There was a shortage in drystone masons combined with the scarcity of technical information, construction specifications, and engineering data.

Assurance for Life, Inc. is a non-profit, pregnancy assisting medical clinic whose mission is “to empower individuals for their emotional, physical and spiritual wellbeing, focusing on their pregnancy and sexual health”. The organization, formally known as Women for Life, Inc., was established in 1984 by a group of concerned citizens that initiated a board of directors in order to establish an outreach for women facing unplanned and crisis pregnancies.
