Wolf Run, Saving the Lives of Our Wild and Domestic Friends

In 1993 Mary Kindred made a life changing decision “I threw away my high heels and traded in a sports car and bought a truck and a pair of work boots.†And founded what is known as Wolf Run Wildlife Refuge and Educational Facility, just thirty minutes south of Lexington.

Kentucky native takes a 4,500 mile excursion to help raise awareness and preserve the wild lands.

Founder of Wildlands Network, 47-year-old John Davis, Georgetown, KY native is on his way to completing a multi-year expedition on TrekEast, North America’s East wild lands.

Bluegrass Regional Recycling Corporation, Influencing Recycling Habits on Central Kentucky

Throughout the nation and our state we have heard a lot of talk about recycling habits and how beneficial they are. This topics are often time over looked by many. Yet, there is one organization serving 17 central Kentucky counties that does not over look recycling. Bluegrass Regional Recycling Corporation (BRRC) is a 501-C3 nonprofit organization that has been focusing on improving central Kentucky’s recycling habits for 21 years.

Hopeful Farm Foundation Completes First Successful Fundraiser

The Hopeful Farm Foundation kicked off summer with their first profitable fundraiser, which was held on Derby day at the Galt House in Louisville, KY. The purpose of this fundraiser was to bring in money to put forth to a Central Kentucky location for this organization.

One does not need to travel far from Lexington to have a Toronto Film Festival experience. One World Films is a non-profit organization founded in 1998 right here in the heart of the Bluegrass. With the idea formed to establish an annual film festival in Lexington, they have set out on their mission to make aware the issues that affect the incredibly diverse population in the area.
