Central Kentucky Radio Eye Interview
Central Kentucky Radio Eye
Central Kentucky Radio Eye brings the world of print to those who are unable to access printed words. This Radio Reading Service is accessible with a pre-tuned CKRE radio or on basic cable channel 97. A pre-tuned CKRE radio allows listeners to hear the readings of newspapers, magazines, health materials, grocery ads and many more all day, every day.
We recently sat down with a volunteer by the name of Brian. Brian refers to himself as a “late bloomer” in the world of volunteering, but he is nothing short of a true benefactor. “Volunteerism is something special to me now and I now understand why my family was so involved. It is a feel good thing, when you volunteer people think you are really doing something great for someone else, but to me you are really the beneficiary rather than the benefactor. I feel like I receive more from it rather than what I give.”
CKRE has various volunteer opportunities that allow you to become involved in delivering the CKRE mission that is to “broadcast the reading of current newspapers and other everyday literature, offering greater independent living to people who are blind, visually impaired or physically handicapped”.
Learn how you can become involved by visiting www.radioeye.org or by call 859.422.6390.
